Hi guys this is a very quick post.
I have just entered a competition where people can like My Facebook page during the month of May and go into the draw to win a laptop computer.
I’m doing this as part of research for a new ebook I am writing on blogging for business so:
- If you are a blogger I suggest you check it out below, the more people the better and it only costs you $7 and I’m sure you will get some activity on your Facebook page as a result.
- If you are interested to see what kind of numbers we get from this stay tuned to the blog in June i’ll go back over the results with some specific numbers to help people determine whether it would be a good idea for them. I will be reporting on the traffic as well as the additional likes on our Facebook page and anything else that comes out of it.
- If you want a laptop computer and you don’t want to pay for it, wait till May and like my page!
Ooh, very interesting as we are launching a Facebook competition soon – are you going with a specially designed landing/welcome page for the competion and how much might one of these cost?

Hi Catherine, no I haven’t even added the banner image for the new timeline view yet! I don’t really get on there a lot. I think since they are going there to like your page anyway I’m not sure you would have to do a lot in terms of a landing page and I have a feeling I read somewhere that they were removing the ability to automatically forward to a different page in the new timeline view (although I’m not sure where I read that and I haven’t looked into it since we don’t do that anyway).

This is interesting, I just attended a social media workshop where similar strategies for getting facebook likes were discussed. I think it’s a great idea, good luck!

Thank Elena, we’ve got a lot more likes but it will be interesting to measure the actual engagement and whether that’s increased. I still don’t get a lot of replies to my posts on Facebook.
